On the inside there is only a small change from the previous model in terms of materials and dials, but other than that it stayed more or less the same. Performance
The Isuzu KB 3.0D Teq pushes out 130kW and 380NM from 1800RPM, but still sounds a bit noisy and makes one think of a tractor driving on the farm. In terms of fuel consumption, we measured an average of about 11l/100km on a 80 litre tank, which is still quite reasonable.
During off-road testing, the engine seemed quite willing with a lot of muscle, especially in low ranges. The Diff is still old-school with no electrical gadgets, which clearly shows Isuzu’s tough off-road focus on the Isuzu KB 3.0 Bakkie.
Conclusion
The Isuzu KB 3.0 diesel bakkie is definitely a great option for a wide range of applications, from family fishing trips, construction or farming. It is slightly more expensive than its competitors, which makes it a slightly tough sell, but other than that, we are thoroughly impressed with the overall performance of the Isuzu KB 3.0D.
